Steamed Dungeness crab


Steamed Dungeness crab

Ingredient:

– Dungeness crab : 2

– Beer : 2 cup

– Ginger : 3 slice

– Lemon lime, salt, pepper

Start :

– Use sauce pan. Turn the heat on ( high heat ). Put Dungeness crab to that pan, add 2 cup of beer and ginger, put a lit, reduce heat to medium heat. Cook for 12 minutes then turn the heat off, carefully pour all the water come out, put the lid back and wait for 2 minutes. Done !

– Mix salt, pepper and lemon lime to make a paste.

Fried chicken wings

Ingredients :
– 5 large chicken wings
– Soy sauce: 3 tablespoons
– Red chilly : 1 ( chopped )
– Green onion : 1
– Canola oil
– Chopped garlic : 1 clove
– Sugar : 1 teaspoon
– Pepper : 1/2 teaspoon
Start :
– Mix soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cold water, garlic, red chilly. sugar, pepper and chicken wings into a zip lock bag. Start squeeze for 2 minutes and let it stand for at least 10 minutes.
– Add 2 table spoon oil to a nonstick pan. High heat. Add chicken wings and let it stand for 2 minutes ( each side ) Pour the juice come out from chicken in a zip lock bag to a pan. Reduce heat to medium- low heat. Cook for 15 minutes each side.
– The juice left, it tasted good but too much oil. I add green onion and 2 tablespoon of cold water. Cook for 2 minutes and turn off. Pour it to a small cup and wait until oil and sauce separate. Carefully use a small spoon and eliminate those fat. That good, you can eat chicken without worrying about fat, oil ….

Corn cake for vegetarian

Ingredients :

– Fresh sweet corn : 2

– Hot chilly powder, black pepper, salt

– Chopped green onion

– Chopped cilantro

Milk : 10 ml

Flour : 5 oz

Canola oil

Start :

– Use a cheese knives slice sweet corn ( please see slideshow )

– Add 1.5 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon hot chilly powder, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and milk then mix with sweet corn

– Add chopped cilantro, green onion and start frying

– Served with salad or mashed potatoes

Grilled pork ribs with tamarind sauce


Grilled pork tenderloin with tamarind sauce

Ingredients :

– Tamarind : 2 tablespoons

– Pork ribs : 2 pounds

– Chopped garlic : 5 glove

– Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons

– Fish sauce : 3 tablespoons

– Pure honney : 1/2 tablespoon

– All purpose flour : 1/2 tablespoon

Start :

– Mix soy sauce, fish sauce, honey, half of chopped garlic, 2 tablespoons of cold water => sauce then add pork ribs . Let it stands for 30 minutes .

– Start grilling until it gold and brown, brush sauce after every 3 minutes until it done.

– Mix sauce, tamarind and four together = > tamarind sauce

– Add tablespoon canola oil and garlic to a cooking pan. Add tamarind sauce , cook for 3 minutes. ( you can add more water if you want )

Done !

Steak salad combo – Why not ?


Salad

I love steak but I want to lose weight so I have to eat salad for dinner. Let’s combines !

Ingredient :

– Lettuce

– Strip loin steak

– Tomato : 1

– Chopped onion

– Lemon lime

– Salt, pepper, hot sauce, olive oil

– 1 table spoon of milk

Start :

– Add 1 teaspoon of hot sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, milk, pepper, 2 teaspoon of olive oil and steak – cut into small piece to a large bowl. Mix all together and let it stands for 15 minutes.

– Add a table spoon of canola oil to a pan ( high heat ) => Add chopped onion , cook until light brown => add steak, cook for another 2 minutes. Wait until it cool.

– Ready to be served :

In a large bowl I add lettuce, tomato, steak and 1 table spoon of lemon lime.  Done

I can eliminate fat and protein and please my palate at the same time . Yay

Steamed shrimp

Coming home and there is nothing to eat. Burger, frozen foods ? ………. No.

I was thinking seafood which is ready to be served right in my kitchen.

Ingredients :

– Frozen shrimp : raw or steamed ( 10)

– An egg ( or not )

– Oyster sauce – or you can try salt and pepper

– Ginger, red chilly : sliced

Start :

– Soaking shrimp into cold water 3 – 4 times, let it stand for 10 minutes on paper towel.

– Place shrimp into a bowl, sprinkle salt and pepper, add ginger , red chilly, insert steaming basket and start steaming. OR

Place shrimp into a bowl, add oyster sauce, an egg in the middle, ginger, red chilly and put them into a steaming pot for 7 minutes.

New style tofu – 3 bucks dinner for vegetarian


New style tofu

One day you go to a market and saw somebody buy TOFU…… what ?! How can people eat those, It taste like feet. Forget it, most of my friend hate tofu, they said if you want to know how does tofu taste just try to eat paper, lol.  But right after they try this new style tofu, they love it. ^_^

Ingredient :

– Silk tofu

– Soy sauce

– Chopped green onion

– Sugar

– cornstarch : 1 tea spoon

Start :

– Put tofu into a bowl ( without water ) then put it into a water steamer. If you don’t have one, try a sauce pan with a little water then put tofu bowl inside, medium high heat and slowly warm up your tofu.

– Add 2 tablespoon of soy sauce in to a small bowl, 1 table spoon of water, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, a little bit of sugar ( some kind of soy sauce is very salty ) then mix together.

– Use a small pan, add few drop of olive oil then add green onion. Stir a little bit and add soy sauce. ( low-medium heat )

– Serve : Carefully take the tofu of of the steamer, add sauce …….then you’re done

Very healthy, easy make you full, supper supper low calories and doesn’t that much money.

Raw Oyster

You love oyster, one day you walk in to a restaurant and order a dozen —– cha-ching, oh my God, It’s very expensive.

If you are living in Maryland, Canada or California or anywhere that you can find raw oyster in a market …. let’s buy some raw and please your tummy ^_^

I’ll show you a very special style eating oyster with hot, sour and so dawn tasty.

Ingredients :

– Raw oyster

– Fish sauce

– Lemon lime

– Chilly sauce

– Red chilly pepper, a piece of ginger, a clove of garlic

– Sugar

Start :

– Sauce : Add  2 tablespoon of fish sauce, 2 tablespoon of warm water, 2 tablespoon of sugar and mix together.

Chopping ginger, garlic and red chilly pepper until very small piece then mix if with fish sauce.

– Rinse raw oyster under water

– Use a non sharp knife to open them

– Add half teaspoon lemon lime to each one of them.

– Add half teaspoon sauce to each oyster and ………..try, you gonna love it !

How to make sauce for spring rolls and egg rolls


Fish sauce

Ingredients :

– Fish sauce : 2 tablespoon

– Warm water : 3 tablespoon

– Sugar : 1 tablespoon

– Lemon lime : 1 tablespoon

– Red hot chilly:  1

– A clove of garlic

Start :

– Add fish sauce, sugar and water in to a bowl then mix

– Chop garlic and red chilly together then mix with fish sauce

– Finally, add lemon lime ………………………..then you’re done.

We can use this sauce with spring rolls or egg rolls

How to make Vietnamese spring rolls ( goi cuon )

I love spring roll. Whenever I want to lose weight fast, I eat spring roll at lunch time for like a week. Believe or not, I lose weight.

Ingredient:

– All kinds of vegetable you want : I prefer lettuce

– Spring roll wrapper

– Pork bell

– Shrimp

– Warm water

– Sauce : please follow this link

Start :

– Boiling 6 cup of water, add 1 tea spoon of salt and a piece of onion and pork belly. Boiled until it done, use a chopstick or a fork to check.

– Boiled or steamed shrimp

– Boiled noodle, you can easy find noodle at any Asian market

– Warm water

– Take a rice wrapper and dip it in to warm water and waiting for 2 second then wrap.

– Place shrimp then vegetable, pork and noodle on the wrapper then roll. Done

– Sauce :

There are many kinds of spring roll sauce, if you can’t stand the fish sauce please don’t try this. Lets get hoisin sauce, mustard or a tea soon of salt, 1/2 tea spoon of pepper and lemon lime to make a paste.
